Kate--You really made my night. Thank you for your comment. :-) Yes, I thought of that with the quote generator. The goal of it was to give people who wanted to jump in a small "prompt" but some of my highlights don't work well as isolated quotes. I wonder if I should build these links into the quote generator. That way you can read the quote in isolation but jump to the PDF if you are interested in reading more. You think that would help?

But, yes, and you're probably familiar with these terms, but in religious circles quoting verses out of context is usually referred to as "prooftexting" and it's something that in practice bothers me to no end.
